Sally first fell in love with handcrafted jewelry on a collegiate study abroad trip in Venice, Italy. Winding through the streets and canals, she stumbled upon a tiny hardware store with some of the most interesting necklaces hanging in the window. Intrigued by this "hardware store gone boutique," Sally entered and struck up a conversation with a pleasant, young Italian woman. Borrowing a small corner in her husband's metalworking shop, the lady fashioned beautiful necklaces from his many remnants. Inspired by her ingenuity and in awe of her creativity, Sally picked up a gorgeous necklace made of aqua glass, fishline and galvanized steel, which served as a springboard for venturing into jewelry design.
